We will continue to see intervals of rain today, tonight, and much of tomorrow as we remain in a moisture-laden fetch of moisture off of the Gulf of Mexico. Temperature-wise, one of our Carolina wedges has set itself up today and is creating a wide range in temps around the region. This afternoon, temps will be in the 40s at best from the Triad northward, but the southern Piedmont could very well remain in the 60s all day.
The wedge will try to scour out later tonight, and if that occurs, there will be a window of opportunity for a couple of thunderstorms late tonight into tomorrow morning.
A cold front will breeze through here tomorrow and end the rain chances by later tomorrow afternoon.
Thursday and Friday will be cool and dry with lots of sun and highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
The forecast gets complicated again as we head toward the first of next week. For this forecast package, I have kept things precip-free Sunday through Tuesday, but we might have to change that as the forecast picture gets clearer.
